# Up/Down Markets

Up/Down markets are recurring short-interval crypto predictions: **will the price of an asset be up or down at the end of this window?** A new round opens the moment the last one closes, around the clock.

***

## Assets and intervals

| Interval | Assets |
| -------------- | ------------------ |
| **5 minutes** | BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP |
| **15 minutes** | BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP |
| **1 hour** | BTC, ETH, XRP |
| **4 hours** | BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP |
| **1 day** | BTC, ETH, XRP |

Find them under **Crypto** in Predictions, or in the **Live Crypto** rail on the discovery page. A timeframe switcher and round navigation let you hop between intervals and browse recent finished rounds.

## How a round works

1. **The round opens** and locks in its **Price to beat** — the asset's price at the moment the round started, from the same Chainlink price feed Polymarket uses to resolve the market.
2. **You trade Up or Down** while the round runs. Prices for each side move with the market's live odds, and the page shows the live price against the price to beat, a countdown, and a live chart.
3. **The round closes.** If the asset's price ends above the price to beat, **Up** wins; below, **Down** wins. Resolution follows on-chain within moments, and winnings are claimable like any other market.

## One-Tap trading

Rounds measured in minutes don't leave time for an order form. **1-Tap mode** puts three preset buy amounts directly on the trading panel — **$5 / $25 / $100 by default**, editable — and a single tap fires a market buy on your chosen side instantly. Each preset tile shows what you'd win at the current odds.

1-Tap is on by default for Up/Down rounds (except the daily variant) and can be toggled off in the panel.

## Reading the odds

Up/Down prices are probabilities like any prediction market: Up at 55¢ means the market prices a 55% chance the asset closes the window higher. Because crypto moves fast, the odds swing hard inside a round — a side that was 80¢ can be 20¢ minutes later. Early entries buy uncertainty cheap; late entries buy confidence at a premium.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Up/Down rounds are the fastest markets on the platform — closer to trading a candle than an event. Odds can gap instantly on a price move, and a round's outcome is decided in minutes. Size accordingly.
