# Positions, Resolution & Claiming

***

## Your positions

**Positions** (on the Predictions page and in [Portfolio](/onchain-docs/portfolio-and-tools/portfolio-view.md)) shows every market you're in:

| Column | Meaning |
| ------------- | -------------------------------------------------- |
| **Shares** | How many outcome shares you hold |
| **Avg → Now** | Your average entry price vs. the current price |
| **Value** | What the position is worth at the current price |
| **P\&L** | Profit or loss, in dollars and percent |
| **To Win** | Your total payout if the outcome resolves your way |

Positions update live as trades fill. **Open Orders** lists your resting limit orders (cancel individually or all at once), and **History** shows your recent trades. A cumulative PnL chart tracks your performance over 24H / 7D / 30D / all-time.

## Exiting early

You never have to wait for resolution:

* **Sell button** — exits the full position at the current market price in one tap.
* **Order panel → Sell** — partial exits, or a limit sell at your target price.

Selling early locks in whatever the market currently prices — useful for taking profit when the odds have moved your way, or cutting a position whose thesis broke.

## Resolution

When the event concludes, the market resolves per its **Rules** — the resolution criteria shown on every market page. Once resolved:

* Trading stops; the market shows **Resolved**.
* Winning shares are worth **$1.00 each**; losing shares are worth zero.

Resolution timing varies by market — some resolve within minutes of the event, others (like ones that need official data) take longer.

## Claiming your winnings

Winnings are **claimed, not auto-paid**:

1. After resolution, a **Claim** button appears on your winning position.
2. Tap it — the claim executes on-chain (no gas needed from you).
3. The payout lands in your **Predictions balance** within moments, ready to trade or withdraw.

Unclaimed winnings don't expire — but claiming promptly keeps your balance working.

## Withdrawing

From the Transfer dialog, withdraw your Predictions balance back to your wallet at any time. Withdrawals arrive as **USDC.e on Polygon, 1:1, with no onchain.cc fee**.

Disputes and edge-case resolutions follow Polymarket's resolution process — the market Rules are always the authority on how an outcome is decided.
