# Factions

Colosseum is not only an individual competition. Factions are the team layer — up to **50 traders** competing together for collective standing and a shared points boost.

***

## The Faction Boost

Every week, factions are ranked by their **combined trading volume**. The top factions on that ladder earn a **points multiplier for every member**, applied to all their trading — the #1 faction earns the biggest boost, with smaller boosts down the top ranks. The ladder resets every Monday, so the boost is never owned — it's defended.

Two things follow from that design:

* **Active factions win.** The boost goes to factions that trade, not factions that exist. A dormant faction earns nothing.
* **Recruiting matters.** Every active member adds volume to the weekly total that earns everyone's boost.

***

## Joining a Faction

* **Browse and join** — open **Factions** in the Colosseum tab and browse the list. Open factions can be joined directly; private factions take join requests.
* **Invites** — a faction can send you a direct invite link.
* Some factions set a **join fee in points** — shown before you join.

You can be in **one faction at a time**; leave your current one before switching. Check a faction's member count and weekly volume before joining — an active faction is the whole point.

## Competing Together

* **Faction leaderboard** — factions ranked by collective performance, updated live in the Factions panel, with the weekly-volume ladder that decides the boost.
* **Faction quests** — some quests target the faction as a whole: the entire faction's combined activity clears one goal, and everyone shares the reward.
* **Faction pools** — factions can accumulate a shared points pool that leadership distributes to members.

The faction boost stacks with any active Bonus Windows on your point earnings. For a solo trader, joining an active faction is the single easiest points upgrade available.
